Immediate Life Support (ILS)


This course provides healthcare professionals with the essential skills and knowledge to perform Immediate Life Support (ILS) during critical medical emergencies. It emphasises the importance of rapid intervention to improve patient outcomes.


Course Objectives:

Understand the principles of Immediate Life Support, including the recognition of critical illness and deterioration.

Learn how to assess and manage patients experiencing life-threatening conditions such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and severe shock.

Gain skills in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Explore the management of airway, breathing, and circulation in emergency situations.

Learn how to work effectively as part of a resuscitation team.

Understand the importance of post-resuscitation care and the transfer of care to advanced life support teams.

Develop skills in communication and leadership during high-pressure medical emergencies.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for healthcare professionals, including nurses, paramedics, and other medical staff, who may be required to provide immediate life support.

Course Format:

Duration: 1/2 day

Mode: In-person training only

Assessment: Practical scenarios and written assessment

Certification:

Participants will receive an Immediate Life Support (ILS) Certificate upon successful completion, valid for 1 year.

 

Healthcare Legislations including MHA 1983, MCA 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008.
